Natalie Schumacher graduated from Auckland University in 2001. After spending three years living in France and England she returned to Auckland to sit her bar exam. Natalie achieved the top student award in her intake and was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2004.

Natalie specialises in Family Law with particular interests in:

Natalie is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, The Family Law Section, Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (Māori Law Society) and was previously co-president of Te kōmiti ture-ā-whānau o Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa.
 
Natalie was employed in Takapuna at a well-known boutique Family Law firm for 10 years before branching out as a sole practitioner in 2014 as “Schumacher Law”.
 
Natalie prides herself in being down to earth, practical, understanding and positive. Outside of office hours Natalie is usually with her family kicking a soccer ball around or enjoying the spectacular North Shore beaches.
Tyrone Hack graduated from the University of Auckland in 2016 obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Māori Studies (BA).
 
Tyrone grew up on the North Shore and worked as an Electrician before heading to University to study Law.

More about Tyrone:

While completing his Law degree, Tyrone served as president of Te Rākau Ture, the University of Auckland’s Māori Law Student’s Association. During his final year, he worked as a Law Clerk at Meredith Connell with the Criminal Prosecutions team.
 
Following graduation, Tyrone worked with Māori organisations teaching governance and strategy development before taking a year to be a full-time stay-at-home father.
 
Tyrone was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in October 2019.
In January 2020, Tyrone returned to the Shore and joined the team a Schumacher Law. Tyrone represents clients involved in Parenting Orders, Protection Orders, Oranga Tamariki Orders (used to be called CYFS) and Home for Life applications.
 
Tyrone will listen to your situation carefully and empathetically, he will ensure you have a full understanding of your legal options.
 
Outside of the office, Tyrone enjoys spending time with his family, running trails and enjoying the great outdoors.
 
Tyrone is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa, the Family Law Section and Auckland District Law Society.
Ashleigh Scanlan graduated from the University of Auckland in 2020 obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Arts double majoring in Gender Studies and Anthropology (BA).
 
Ashleigh’s whakapapa is to Ngāti Hinerangi in the Waikato, but she grew up and lives on the Shore.

More about Ashleigh

During her studies Ashleigh was an active member of Te Rākau Ture, the University of Auckland’s Māori Law Student Association, serving as Public Officer in 2017. Ashleigh was also a member of the Equal Justice Project and volunteered at the Auckland Community Law Centre for two years.
 
After graduation, Ashleigh worked in a local high school in their student wellbeing centre as a pastoral care administrator. Ashleigh enjoyed this work because she is passionate about working with and for children and their whānau.
 
Ashleigh was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in March 2022. Ashleigh is looking forward to working with you to curate the safest and advantageous outcomes for you and your whānau. Ashleigh is a member of:

Outside of the office, Ashleigh enjoys reading a book at the beach, spending time with friends, and trying new and interesting places to eat. 

Taylor Hill graduated from the University of Auckland in 2025 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in September 2025.

Taylor began her legal career at Schumacher Law shortly thereafter.

Throughout university, Taylor worked primarily as a nanny for a number of families. This experience sparked her passion for working with and supporting families, and in particular for advocating for the best interests of children. During her studies, Taylor was a proud member of the Women in Law Society and volunteered for a year with YouthLaw Aotearoa, providing support to young people navigating legal issues.

Taylor is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, the Family Law Section and the Auckland Women’s Lawyer’s Association.

Outside of the office, Taylor enjoys playing social netball, hiking, baking cakes, reading, and spending time with her friends, whānau and dogs.
